Live Customer Service (24/7)
Customer Support has been part of the foundation of our company since the beginning. You can’t get far on price and quality alone; we recognize and believe that. Over the years we have put substantial effort into building a more customer friendly and efficient Customer Service Department.

In October of 2011 we decided that the best way to address the needs of the customer was to have a live and knowledgeable Customer Service Representative available to answer questions for customers 24 hours a day. In talking to our customers we realized that having someone available when they are calling to place an order was very important to them. It’s typical in the industry to just leave an answering machine on to receive orders at night, but that wasn’t good enough for us and our customers wanted more. We listened to them, as we strive to do, and we haven’t looked back since. 

In order to meet and exceed this customer need, there was some expansion and shuffling that needed to happen. Over the last few years we have more than doubled our Customer Service Staff from 5 to 12 individuals. These individuals have extensive experience in Customer Service and the Seafood Industry. Each of them gets put through our own ‘Fish School’ as a way to continually train and develop them to be the best they can be. 

Now, we schedule Customer Service Representatives from Monday at 3:00 am until the following Saturday at 1:00 pm. We pride ourselves on our pledge to Customer Service, and know this level of commitment is not common in our industry. At J.J. McDonnell, our customers expect excellence, and we strive to provide it every step of the way. 
Customer Education and Training
When we say one of our goals as a company is to ‘enable our customers to enhance their own businesses’, we mean that. We go to great lengths, enjoying every step of the way, to make sure your entire staff is knowledgeable and educated about the product they are serving and the industry it comes from.

Open Door Policy
At J.J. McDonnell we have an ‘Open Door Policy’. We truly appreciate it when our customers take time to come and tour our facility, or even just to say ‘Hello’. We believe it enables them to get a better understanding of exactly what goes into getting our product to their door, from start to finish. You wouldn’t believe what’s going on over here when most of you are asleep! Come and check it out for yourself!
